Leigh Stationers’ Academy has an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and efficient individual to join us in the role of Teaching Assistant. This role will suit both experienced TAs and graduates who wish to gain first‑hand experience with a view to commencing Teacher Training with us in the future.

We are keen to hear from candidates who have previous experience working with pupils who have a diagnosis of ASD, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) or SLCN (Speech, Language & Communication Needs).

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 with selected students.
  • Support small groups in mainstream classes and in the inclusion area via intervention sessions.
  • Work closely with teachers to differentiate resources and set and monitor targets.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with young people is preferable but not essential.
  • Must have completed GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy.
  • Dedicated to personal learning and development, with a sincere commitment to sharing our values and a drive for continuous improvement.

Working Hours & Contract

This is a fixed‑term role for one year (initially), based on 37 hours per week, term time plus one week of inset. Working hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with a 3:30 pm finish on Wednesdays.
