Teaching Assistant – Early Years & KS1 (15 hours permanent + up to 11 hours temporary, part‑time, permanent/temporary).
Grade 5 SCP6, PCD5 (£25,989 per annum, pro‑rate, term time plus 1 week INSET & holiday entitlement).

Responsibilities
- Support the Early Years & Key Stage 1 teaching staff, primarily working with Nursery & Reception pupils aged 3‑7, including those with additional needs.
- Promote learning and maintain a calm, positive classroom environment, managing pupils’ behaviour effectively.
- Ensure the wellbeing and progress of all pupils, working as part of a strong team under the direction of early years and Key Stage 1 staff.
- Where possible, combine with After School Club lead or assistant roles (2.5 hours per week each) to meet scheduling needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified teaching assistant with a Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Recent experience working with pupils aged 3‑7 years, including those with additional needs.
- Calm, positive, enthusiastic, flexible and caring, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Sympathetic to the Christian ethos of the school and committed to its aims and values.
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS check and provide excellent professional references.
Preferred start date 23 February (or as soon as possible thereafter). Working days will ideally be Monday to Thursday, especially Tuesday and Wednesday.
Employment will be with the Good Shepherd Trust; terms and conditions are comparable to those of Cumberland Council.
