Teaching Assistant – Level 1

Fixed‑term contract until August 2027, initially 12 months. Working hours: 31.25 hours per week, term time only (Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm with a 45‑minute lunch break), plus 5 days of training. Salary: £18,214 per annum.

Responsibilities

• Support children with Educational Health Care Plans (ECHPs) during timetabled curriculum teaching time.
• Assist the class teacher and SENCO in planning and delivering activities and strategies that support each child’s learning and development.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating the school’s values and helping pupils build firm foundations.
• Attend meetings, training and additional sessions as required, with notice given for extra hours.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Qualifications in Mathematics and English Language (GCSE, GCE or equivalent).
• Proof of right to work in the UK.
• Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly those with ECHPs.
• Reliable, dedicated, and able to provide a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and medical clearance under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
