Casual Painter & Decorator

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Casual Painter & Decorator to assist with a range of painting and decorating tasks on a flexible, as‑needed basis. This role is ideal for someone with practical experience who is looking for occasional work and can adapt to varying project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming)
• Applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and fixtures
• Protecting surrounding areas with dust sheets, tape, and coverings
• Mixing paints and matching colours as required
• Carrying out minor repairs to surfaces prior to decorating
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition
• Following health and safety guidelines at all times
• Cleaning up work areas after completion of tasks

Qualifications

• Previous experience in painting and decorating (commercial or domestic)
• Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools
• Good attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Painting & Decorating or similar)
• Full driving licence
• Own tools and transport

Work Hours

Casual / flexible hours depending on project needs. May include occasional evenings or weekends.
