As a Mobile Catering Assistant, you won’t be based at just one school. Instead, you’ll travel to support different school catering teams across Stourbridge, Halesowen, Worcester, and Solihull. You could be supporting a site for a single day, a week, or even a month, depending on business needs. This variety makes the role ideal for someone adaptable, proactive, and keen to broaden their experience across multiple sites. What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting school kitchens across multiple locations as required.
- Preparing nutritious and delicious meals for pupils and staff.
- Assisting with food preparation, service, and presentation.
- Keeping kitchen and serving areas clean, safe, and fully stocked.
- Supporting the loading and unloading of deliveries.
- Following food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures.
- Operating kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Representing Sodexo professionally at every site you support.
- Working collaboratively with different teams and quickly adapting to new environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- A positive, flexible, and reliable attitude.
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting others.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to adapt quickly to different schools and kitchen teams.
- Strong time management and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Previous catering, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential, as travel between sites will be required.
Remuneration & Contract
- Hourly rate: £13.20
- Working hours: 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday (10 am – 2 pm, must be flexible)
- Contract: Term-time only (39 weeks, paid over 52 weeks)
- Travel: All travel expenses reimbursed.
- Retention bonus: £200 on successful completion of 12‑week probation, £300 after 52 weeks of continuous employment.
- Mileage reimbursement: first 10 000 miles at £0.45 per mile, thereafter £0.25 per mile.
