Position Overview
Provide a quality booking and reception service within the Cardio‑Respiratory Unit. Use hospital systems to book or cancel patient appointments, respond to patient and clinician queries face‑to‑face or over the phone, and carry out other administrative tasks as required.
Responsibilities
- Book, cancel and update patient appointments using the hospital systems.
- Deal with patient and clinician queries in person, by phone, and via email.
- Carry out general clerical and administrative duties in the office.
- Maintain accurate records and support the smooth operation of the Cardio‑Respiratory Unit.
Requirements
- Basic GCSE level (C or above) in Maths and English, or equivalent (CLAIT or ECDL).
- Previous clerical experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good keyboard and computer proficiency, with the ability to learn new systems.
- You must be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
- Strong teamwork, deadline‑orientation, and ability to work under pressure in an emotive environment.
