The Role
As a Sales Assistant you’ll support your store team with driving sales performance and the day‑day running of the store, delivering exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting the team to meet and exceed targets through KPI delivery.
- Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Offer customers a VIP concierge service, actively contacting them with updates on products and tastings.
- Sell the story, not the discount, demonstrating and sharing a passion for product through an in‑depth knowledge of the range.
- Taking ownership of wine knowledge, constantly learning about products to support a WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
- Take accountability and pride for the physical appearance and maintenance of the store, both internally and externally.
- Involved in all operational tasks required for the day‑day running of a Majestic Wine store – including delivering wine, merchandising stock deliveries and calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
- Continue to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and feed ideas back to the wider team for implementation.
- Remain fully compliant, safe and legal by following internal policies, processes and completing mandatory training.
- Be an example of Majestic’s Ways of Working and provide support for more junior team members, feeding back to the Store Manager as appropriate.
- As a key holder, understand opening and closing compliance and be confident to operate the store independently.

- Wine knowledge beneficial but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET qualification.
- Hold a full UK manual‑transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Job Specifics
- Contract: permanent.
- Hours: 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Driving is a key part of the role; candidates must have a full UK manual driving licence held for at least 12 months.
