The Opportunity
This is a key position within a high-performing design team, offering the opportunity to lead the delivery of earthing and lightning protection solutions across major infrastructure and high‑voltage projects. The role will suit an experienced engineer looking to combine technical expertise with leadership responsibility in a forward‑thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of earthing and lightning protection systems for HV and substation projects
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a growing design team
- Manage multiple projects from concept through to detailed design and completion
- Contribute to substation design, high‑voltage systems, and FEED studies
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practice
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in earthing design methodologies
- Conduct design reviews and ensure robust quality assurance across all deliverables
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s advantageous)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in earthing design
- Strong knowledge of earthing principles and lightning protection systems
- Experience with XGSLab and/or CDEGS software
- Understanding of substation design, HV systems, and FEED studies
- Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring or guiding engineers
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Highly analytical with strong problem‑solving ability
