Site Manager – Construction / Fit‑Out
Our client is a well‑established Retail and Commercial Contractor delivering projects across the UK with values of up to £15 million. Due to continued growth they are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee construction works on a distribution project based in Gateshead.
Location: Gateshead
Start Date: 18th June 2026
Duration: 4 days (Holiday Cover)
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day‑to‑day site operations on a busy construction / fit‑out project
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out to programme
- Maintaining and enforcing high standards of health & safety compliance
- Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Monitoring progress and reporting updates to the project team
- Ensuring work is completed to required quality standards and deadlines
- Liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers on site
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction or fit‑out projects
- Valid CSCS Card
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Asbestos Awareness
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain programme deadlines
