Electrical Site Manager in Exeter, Devon

Overview

Tank Recruitment have been engaged to recruit an Electrical Site Manager for one of our clients on a project in Exeter.

We’re looking for an experienced electrical site manager to oversee all electrical works on a 132 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project based in Exeter. This is a purely electrical scope – no civils involvement. You’ll be responsible for managing on-site electrical operations, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality standards and programme delivery, and maintaining a safe working environment throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Requirements

• Electrical qualification: City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regs) or equivalent – HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering an advantage.
• SMSTS / CSCS black card.
• Proven electrical site management experience.
• BESS, renewables, or HV/LV infrastructure experience strongly desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day electrical operations on site.
• Coordinate and supervise electrical subcontractors.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
• Produce and review method statements and risk assessments.
• Attend progress meetings and report to project management team.
• Maintain site records, inspection and test documentation.
• Liaise with client, DNO, and other stakeholders as required.
