Store Manager

To maximise the controllable profit potential of the store by ensuring a high standard of leadership, sales techniques, a balanced score card of KPIs and delivery of the highest level of service to the customer at every stage of their journey.

Reports to: Regional Manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Achieve targets and maximise the controllable profit performance of the store in the short and middle term.
  • Ensure all team members provide market‑leading customer service via listening and engagement at every stage of the customers’ journey and lifetime with the brand, both new and existing.
  • Control branch costs to an agreed and most effective level and maximise margin by managing markdowns, discounts, stock loss and targeted selling.
  • Effectively lead and develop the team within the store, encouraging a multi‑channel mindset that endeavours to make every sale; coach the team in line with short‑ and medium‑term objectives and regularly communicate KPI analysis with the Regional Manager and Head Office.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with Centre management.
  • Ensure store and personal KPI’s are in line with company objectives.
  • Create a team culture where living the components of sales (ATV, UPT, Conversion, Category performance) “in the moment” becomes an everyday habit.
  • Recruit, develop and retain a talented and diverse team, recruiting to the agreed contracted rota and ensuring the team are flexible, on brand, diverse and always styled perfectly.
  • Monitor employee behaviour, approach and presentation to ensure they reflect the company’s cultural values and discuss any in‑store employee issues with the Regional Manager.
  • Delegate tasks such as cleaning, stocking, customer support or working the cash till.
  • Demonstrate a high, in‑depth standard of product knowledge, a good understanding of different styles and fit, and tailoring skills throughout the team.
  • Measure, fit and deliver formal‑hire garments on time to the customer, attending to adjustments and ensuring all charges are recovered.
  • Promote the offer and attend Bridal Fayres to grow the business locally.

  • Explore all marketing and sales opportunities by reviewing local activity and competitors’ web, e‑mail, and social‑media activity, comparing it to our own.
  • Ensure all legal and company Data Protection requirements are met and maximise both the quantity and quality of customer data captured in‑store.
  • Ensure store and centre health and safety requirements are met at all times and communicate with Head Office departments and the Regional Manager.
  • Attend to all administrative duties accurately and within the required time frame.
  • Manage stock effectively by following all stock control procedures, ensuring the most accurate book stock record.
  • Communicate with customers, Head Office employees, the company, senior employees, employees at other stores, in person, over the phone, and by email.
  • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
