Job Summary
In this role, you will conduct field investigations, special studies, and analysis for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design on large projects. You will lead the design and development of mechanical components and processes for projects with unique requirements, coordinating and supporting teams to resolve complex technical issues and ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
Major Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct independent MEP work requiring judgment in evaluating, selecting, applying, and adapting engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for medium‑size projects in support of a global business unit.
- Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of MEP components and processes using relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
- Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.
- Develop conceptual designs for MEP engineering projects or projects with specialized or unique requirements.
- Support preparation of estimates, staffing needs, and schedules.
- Prepare or oversee discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and support implementation and performance reporting.
- Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
- Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of MEP aspects of the work.
- Conduct or lead special studies of new MEP engineering methods, materials, and techniques.
- Mentor MEP engineering personnel by providing on‑the‑job training for their professional development and participate in technical educational and training programs as directed.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.
