Job Title

Senior Statistician (Band 7) / Statistician (Band 6) – depending on experience

Overview

Join the Research Data & Statistics Unit (RDSU) at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves supporting the Royal Marsden Clinical Trials Unit (RMCTU) and provides expert advice on statistical and analytical aspects of the Trust’s portfolio of sponsored clinical research studies.

Responsibilities

• Involve in all aspects of study methodology, protocol development, eCRF design, data handling, statistical analysis, and publication of results.
• Support the statistical requirements of the RMCTU and maintain UKCRC accreditation standards.
• For Band 7 holders: manage junior statisticians, ensure training to competent level and develop their career plans.

Qualifications

• Post‑graduate qualification in medical statistics or equivalent experience.
• For the senior role: extensive experience in clinical trials and/or expertise in complex trial methodology.
• Strong analytical, communication and software skills (e.g., R, SAS).
