Role Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Director to join MCR Property Group on a major scheme based in Bedfordshire. This senior, site-focused role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of project delivery within a fast-paced, highly active development business.
This position is ideal for a commercially minded construction leader who thrives on responsibility, enjoys building and leading high-performing teams, and wants to play a key role in delivering complex residential-led developments for a growing national developer.
- Assume full responsibility for planning, management and delivery of the project from pre-construction through to completion.
- Lead all aspects of site delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project programmes, including timelines, budgets and resource planning.
- Build and manage a strong on-site and consultant team, and oversee subcontractor procurement, management of all subcontract packages and coordination of suppliers throughout the build process.
- Oversee the design process from RIBA Stage 3 through to Stage 6, ensuring design intent is maintained while supporting efficient, buildable solutions.
- Maintain rigorous quality control procedures, uphold health and safety standards, and ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, building regulations and company policies.
- Monitor project budgets, manage costs, assess risk and identify opportunities to add value without compromising quality or programme.
- Manage project risk registers, resolve issues as they arise, and maintain clear, consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating at senior project or project director level within residential development, with a strong track record of delivering complex schemes, ideally including high-rise residential projects.
- Degree in construction management, engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
- Strong leadership capability, excellent commercial awareness and the confidence to make clear, decisive decisions.
- Experience using construction management software and systems.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Office- and site-based; does not offer hybrid or remote working options.
