Senior M365 Engineer & Migration Specialist

The Senior M365 Engineer & Migration Specialist will lead and support Microsoft 365 engineering and tenant-to-tenant migration initiatives, with hands‑on responsibility across core M365 services. This role requires strong expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, Intune, migration tooling (preferably Quest & Sharegate), and PowerShell automation. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across global teams and stakeholders, helping drive migration delivery, operational stability, governance, and service improvement. This is a 6‑month contract role based in the UK with remote working.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and support of M365 tenant‑to‑tenant migrations, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and related services.
• Use Quest migration tools (or equivalent) to manage large‑scale, complex migration activities and support cutover planning, testing, and issue resolution.
• Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise M365 services to ensure performance, security, resilience, and availability.
• Conduct root cause analysis on platform issues and implement corrective and preventive measures to improve service stability.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams across the UK, US, and India to coordinate migration schedules, service changes, and project deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Engage with technical and business stakeholders across regions, provide clear communication, and support technical leadership for migration and engineering activities.
• Support M365 engineering activities across Exchange Online, Intune, Entra ID, Teams, and SharePoint, including configuration, policy management, and service governance.
• Develop and use PowerShell automation to improve migration execution, reporting, administration, and operational efficiency.
• Support change control, security, and compliance processes, ensuring all operational and project changes follow governance requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of IT experience with strong expertise in Microsoft 365 engineering, cloud collaboration platforms, and migration delivery.
• Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end M365 tenant‑to‑tenant migrations across core collaboration and productivity services.
• Hands‑on experience with Quest migration tooling strongly preferred, with the ability to work with equivalent enterprise migration tools where required.
• Strong knowledge of Entra ID, SSO, MFA, Intune, security hardening, compliance controls, and identity lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and stakeholders across the UK, US, and India.
• Role is based in the UK, remote working is supported, and the initial contract term is 6 months.
• Strong hands‑on administration experience across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune, with PowerShell scripting capability.
• Strong decision‑making, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
