The Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing London fintech that is building products designed to help people access, manage and save their money more effectively.
They are looking for a backend‑leaning Full Stack Engineer to join a small, hands‑on engineering team and take real ownership of core services, APIs, integrations and customer‑facing product features.
This role would suit an engineer who enjoys understanding the wider business problem, contributing to technical decisions and improving production systems, rather than simply working through pre‑defined tickets.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Developing secure REST and GraphQL APIs
- Building and improving third‑party integrations
- Working on payment, payroll and financial‑data workflows
- Designing and maintaining database‑backed systems
- Improving the reliability, scalability and performance of production applications
- Investigating production issues and resolving root causes
- Strengthening automated testing, monitoring and deployment processes
- Contributing to React‑based product features when required
- Owning work from initial requirement through to production release
- Collaborating closely with engineering, product and business stakeholders

What We’re Looking For
- Around 3–7 years of commercial software engineering experience
- Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience designing and building production APIs
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL or another relational database
- Hands‑on experience with AWS
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD and automated testing
- Confidence working across the full development lifecycle
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
- A genuine ownership mindset
Particularly Relevant Experience
Experience in any of the following would be valuable:
- Fintech
- Payments
- Payroll
- Banking
- Billing or subscriptions
- SaaS platforms
- API integrations
- Queues or messaging technologies
- Production incident resolution
- Authentication, permissions or security workflows
