We are looking for an experienced Automation Systems Developer who enjoys building real-world solutions that make businesses more efficient.
Your Role
Our Automation Systems Developer will design, build, and maintain software and hardware systems that reduce human intervention in routine tasks. They will translate process inefficiencies into scalable, executable solutions to keep Medstrom at the forefront of the healthcare industry.
- Deliver efficiencies by automating administrative tasks, allowing the wider business to prioritize improved patient outcomes.
- Build and optimize Power Automate flows across departments, integrating with business systems.
- Work with SQL and Microsoft Azure.
- Write scripts, logic, or connectors to integrate applications.
- Collaborate with colleagues and managers to identify automation opportunities and scope solutions.
- Test automations in sandbox environments before release.
- Debug automation failures and ensure scripts remain operational as core systems update.
- Support broader Power Platform initiatives, including Power Apps and Power BI as needed.
- Present business cases to the board for new projects.
- Document automation designs for governance and audit purposes.
- Ensure projects are thoroughly mapped and documented to facilitate efficient future fixes, updates, and ongoing IT support.
- Collate post-project data and measurable outcomes to evaluate and demonstrate overall business impact and value delivered.
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, office‑based in Castle Donington.
Experience Needed
- At least 3–5 years’ experience within a similar Automation Developer role.
- Extensive understanding of SQL and Power Apps.
- Solid experience developing end‑to‑end solutions with Power Automate.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to resolve issues independently and quickly.
- Clear, concise, and confident communicator—comfortable in stakeholder‑facing roles.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and comfortable managing priorities.
- Passionate about building innovative solutions that streamline business processes and deliver measurable value.
- Data integration skills—working with SharePoint, Excel, Power BI, and different APIs.
- Security and Permissions awareness.
- JSON experience preferred.
- SharePoint design and development experience preferred.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel if required.
