This is a hands-on, customer-facing architecture role where you will design and deliver production-grade data platforms on AWS.The role is focused on turning real business problems into working systems, from early discovery and architecture design to supporting implementation. This is not a pure strategy or management role, it’s about making clear technical decisions and ensuring they hold up in production.Work location: hybrid from LondonIf you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your CV in English.Requirements:3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, including solution design, migration, and production systems2+ years in customer-facing technical roles, for example Cloud Architect, SRE, or Customer Engineer, working directly with stakeholdersSolid understanding of modern data architectures, including batch, streaming, and lakehouse patternsPractical experience with core AWS data services, such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Kinesis or MSK, EMR, Athena, Lambda, and IAMFamiliarity with broader AWS infrastructure, including networking, IAM, and compute patternsExperience working with real-time or near real-time data processingStrong grasp of data modeling, pipelines, and storage optimizationAbility to reason about trade-offs, not just select toolsAbility to lead end-to-end technical engagements, from discovery through deliveryComfort operating in fast-moving environments with ambiguous requirementsClear communication skills, able to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong communication skills in English. Spanish is a plusBasic understanding of security and access control in AWS environmentsExperience writing HLDs, SOWs, and supporting pre-sales engagementsExperience with ETL processes, data lakes, and pipelinesNice to HaveExperience with Iceberg, dbt, or similar modern data toolingFamiliarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelinesAWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, or similar)Key Responsibilities:Design and deliver end-to-end data platforms on AWS, covering ingestion, storage, processing, and serving layers, including Well-Architected reviews and contribution to SOWs and HLDsWork directly with startup customers to understand requirements, challenge assumptions, and shape practical solutionsLead technical discussions, workshops, architecture reviews, and POCsTranslate ideas and early concepts into clear architectures, including HLDs, SOWs, and implementation directionMake and explain trade-offs across cost, performance, scalability, and complexityStay close to delivery, supporting teams to ensure solutions are implemented correctlyCollaborate with Data Engineers, DevOps, Solution Architects and Account Managers to move projects from concept to productionContribute to internal standards, reusable patterns, and reference architecturesOperate in a fast-paced, project-based environment with multiple customer engagementsStay up to date with modern Data Engineering and Analytics practices, and contribute to internal enablement, patterns, and knowledge sharingWork in a customer-facing environment that includes occasional travel, both locally for meetings and events, and internationally around once per quarterWhat Success Looks Like in Year One:Customers consistently receive well-structured data architectures on AWS (SOWs, HLDs) that are scalable, cost-efficient, and production-readyYou are confidently leading customer engagements end-to-end, from early discovery through to validated architecture and delivery alignmentPre-sales support becomes a clear strength, with direct impact on pipeline quality and deal conversion alongside the account management teamYou have contributed to reusable data patterns, reference architectures, or internal standards that improve consistency and speed of deliveryYou have represented Automat-it in at least one external setting (workshop, webinar, or event), contributing to the company’s visibility in the data and AWS ecosystemYou’ve built strong working relationships with startup customers and AWS stakeholders, becoming a trusted technical partner in both architecture and executionWhy Join Automat-it?:Be at the Forefront of Cloud InnovationJoin a global leader and AWS Premier Tier Services Partner.
