What’s involved for the Applications / Design Engineer
- Develop detailed technical designs and contract-specific work instructions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of all engineering systems, processes, and company-specific applications.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing to ensure safe, efficient use of resources and timely delivery.
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers, ensuring smooth communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with clerical staff to support procurement, purchasing, and accurate project invoicing.
- Represent the company at client meetings as required.
- Participate in occasional out-of-hours client activities following Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Manage engineering orders to ensure projects meet budget, schedule, specification, and quality standards.
- Ensure full compliance with the company’s Business Management System within your area of responsibility.
What you’ll need
- Understanding of engineering systems and manufacturing processes.
- CAD experience advantageous
- Proven ability to interpret and create technical drawings and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with customers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities to meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
- Previous experience in Applications / CAD design or Electrical engineering experience wanting to progress.
