Salary: GBP90000 – GBP120000 per annum + benefits

As the business continues to scale, they are looking for a hands‑on Python engineering leader to help shape the next phase of platform development.
As a Python Engineering Lead your role will blend technical leadership and software engineering, giving you the opportunity to guide a talented team while remaining closely involved in architecture, design and delivery. You’ll play a key role in driving engineering standards, mentoring developers and helping the team tackle complex technical challenges across a modern Python‑based platform.
Collaborating with Product, Engineering and business stakeholders, you’ll influence technical direction, lead the delivery of new capabilities and contribute to the evolution of a platform that supports critical financial services. The environment is collaborative, fast‑moving and well suited to engineers who enjoy balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on problem solving.

Location / WFH: You’ll join colleagues in the Central London office with flexibility to work from home twice a week in a hybrid model.
About you
- Experienced Software Engineer with Python expertise and strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and full SDLC experience
- Team leadership experience, happy to mentor and develop others as well as provide 1‑2‑1s and performance reviews
- Knowledge of cloud based services (they use GCP but AWS or Azure experience is fine)
- Experience of building APIs, ideally FastAPI experience
- Good knowledge of CI/CD, testing and deployment
- Thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, Algorithms
- Collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills
- Degree educated in a STEM discipline, having achieved a 2.1 or above
