Credit Controller
Southwest London. Working hours: 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday in office.
Salary: £28,000 to £32,000.
Overview
Prestigious, high‑profile British brand seeks a Credit Controller to assist the department with managing client payments, implementing credit control policy, maintaining debtors listing, accounting daily bank receipts and chasing outstanding debt.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead and apply company credit control policy and keep monthly debtors’ collections within set targets.
- Chase overdue debt using credit control software.
- Send out reminders of upcoming debt.
- Call through customer lists of outstanding debt.
- Manage your own credit control calendar to ensure chasing is performed methodically and on time.
- Take customer payments over the phone using secure online merchant terminal.
- Process and post daily receipts into accounting system from bank account.
- Perform month‑end bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of month’s postings.
- Manage and maintain sales ledger customer accounts.
- Identify and reconcile customer account discrepancies.
- Assist wholesale customers with service queries, including providing documentation on request.
- Perform month‑end reconciliations of debtors listing, allocating unreconciled cash.
- Perform credit checks and periodic reviews of customer credit limits.
- Review, maintain and update customer contact details.
- Process and distribute credit notes to wholesale customers.
- Process trade references on request.
- Generate reports and statements for internal use.
- Engage in ongoing educational opportunities to update job knowledge and skills.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Finance Controller.
Reporting
Directly report to Financial Controller and Assistant Accountant.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years in Credit Control or a client‑facing role such as estate agency.
- Suitable for recent graduates with work experience while studying or back‑to‑work parents seeking a Monday‑Friday role.

- Graduate‑calibre or educated to A‑level.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency and accountability.
