Role Overview

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager within our Social Work Service. This role will shape practice, support brilliant social workers, and drive better outcomes for children and families. You will lead teams through change, influence service delivery, and champion high-quality, child-centred practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a statutory social work team responsible for Assessment, Child in Need, Child Protection, and Court work
• Ensure high-quality, child-centred practice and effective risk management
• Provide supervision, support, and performance management to staff
• Maintain oversight plans, ensuring clear outcomes for children
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support effective practice
• Monitor performance, quality of practice, and drive continuous improvement

Key Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Significant post-qualification experience in statutory children’s social care
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and thresholds
• Demonstrable ability to manage risk and make sound decisions in complex situations
• Experience of performance management, quality assurance, and driving improvement
• Excellent communication and partnership working skills
• Commitment to high-quality, child-centred practice and continuous professional development
