Paediatric Clinical Research Nurse

The closing date is 24 June 2026.

An exciting fixed‑term opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Band 6 Children’s Clinical Research Nurse to join our inspirational Wolf CRF team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high‑quality research and clinical care for children and young people across a range of therapeutic areas, including neurology, renal, and infectious diseases, within both non‑commercial and commercially funded studies.

This post is dedicated to studies conducted exclusively on the Wolf CRF and involves leading and providing care for participants enrolled in early‑ and late‑phase research trials. The postholder will liaise with Principal Investigators and members of the multidisciplinary team (including sponsors) to develop and maintain robust systems and processes that ensure the highest standards of clinical care, participant safety, and research governance.

Strong clinical skills and experience in managing patients with complex needs, including recognising and responding to the deteriorating child, are essential. Previous research experience is desirable but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided during induction.

Secondment opportunities will be considered, and applicants are encouraged to discuss this with their manager before applying. Informal visits or telephone discussions about the role are warmly encouraged.

Main duties of the job

As a Children’s Research Nurse you will be working with the wider multidisciplinary team across commercial and non‑commercial studies to deliver a seamless pathway for patients participating in research trials/studies undertaken on Wolf CRF.

You will be responsible for the holistic nursing care of children and young people and their families on existing and new clinical trials and contribute to the assessment and management of their care pathways.

This will involve leading on study set up activities, screening, recruiting, educating and monitoring children and young people in studies as well the collation and documentation of study data. You will be trained to take informed consent for selected studies which do not involve a medicinal product.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme and actively encourage opportunities to develop new clinical and leadership skills. The normal working hours for the post are Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm although flexibility may be required to accommodate patient visits and assessments outside of these hours.
