1st Step Solutions are working on behalf of a Leading Contractor that are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Manager to work within their pre‑construction team in Central London.

The Design Manager must have previous experience leading the design process and interface with MEP and CSA teams.

Responsibilities

• Focus on the technical, cost, program, delivery and resilience aspect.
• Leading design team internally and externally and owner of the Design Tracker and Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP).
• Work with colleagues globally to ensure design delivery and methodologies are consistent across projects globally.
• Chair meetings with colleagues to discuss innovations, new design methodology/technology and standards for all project regions.
• Liaise with utilities consultants for site utility availability, planning, application, quote, and phasing for projects.
• Carry out due diligence exercise for real estate clients prior to site acquisition for data centre master planning and build.
• Engage with locally appointed consultants to review design for local compliance prior to local authorities submission.
• Be instrumental in defining construction phasing strategy and master planning in line with availability of utilities on site.
