Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Shift Maintenance Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Shift Rotation

• 2 Week Rotation
• Week 1: Monday to Friday 05:00 – 15:00
• Week 2: Monday to Friday 16:00 – 02:00

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Operate to a high degree of Health and Safety and good housekeeping standards
• Lock off procedures to be always followed to ensure safety of self and others on site
• Carry out small projects and modifications as required within projects
• Quickly assess breakdowns and act accordingly
• Provide constant support for production and packing departments
• Carry out PPM inspections & maintenance and corrective maintenance repairs in a timely manner
• Carry out general maintenance as required including lubrication tasks / maintenance schedules

Job Related Experience, Knowledge and Skill Requirements (Essential)

• NVQ level 3
• City and Guilds, Electrical / Mechanical
• A thorough understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical skills
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
• An aptitude to fault diagnosis and logical thinking
• Must be able to read, understand and work with schematic drawings
• Welding skills (MIG/TIG/ARC)
• Must be capable of Self‑Organisation & Self‑Motivation

Desirable

• ONC / HNC or equivalent level of education
• 17th Edition I.E.E. regulations knowledge
• Competency in PLC’s

• Detailed knowledge of business and own area processes and procedures; recognized as an expert in own area
• Delivers quality and accuracy in own work
• Can cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload
• Anticipates/identifies problems and uses available resources to provide effective solutions
• Acts on decisions with required urgency
• Good awareness of a manufacturing environment
• Able to work to deadlines
