Senior Air Conditioning Engineer

Location: Stourbridge / Field BasedJob Type: Permanent, Full TimeSalary: £35,000 – £60,000 DOE + Vehicle + Overtime

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a growing HVAC business.

This is a hands‑on position that combines service, maintenance and fault‑finding duties with responsibility for supporting and coordinating a team of engineers. The role would suit a strong Air Conditioning Engineer looking to step into a leadership role while remaining technically involved.

The Role

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a range of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on split systems, VRV/VRF systems, heat pumps and chillers.
• Attending reactive breakdowns and providing technical support.
• Assisting with commissioning and handover of new installations.
• Producing service reports and recommendations.
• Conducting site surveys and equipment condition assessments.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and apprentices.
• Assisting with scheduling and coordination of engineering activities.
• Liaising with clients and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• F‑Gas Category 1 Certification.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic experience.
• Experience working on split systems, VRV/VRF systems, chillers and heat pumps.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience leading or supervising engineers.
• IPAF, PASMA and CSCS.
• SSSTS or SMSTS.
• Manufacturer training from Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Fujitsu, LG or Panasonic.

• £35,000 – £45,000 for competent engineers looking to progress.
• £50,000 – £60,000 for experienced Senior Engineers.
