Job Description:

Overview

We’re Kingfisher, a team of over 74,000 passionate people who bring Kingfisher and all our brands—including B&Q, Screwfix, Brico Depot, Castorama, and Koçtaş—to life. Guided by our purpose “Better Homes. Better Lives. For Everyone,” we believe a better world starts with better homes and work every day to make that a reality. Join us and help shape the future of home improvement.

Join our dynamic Environment Management Team and lead non-production test environments across Fulfilment & Order Management (with some exposure to Store Operations). You’ll own environment strategy, provide governance, and act as the key escalation point for non‑prod issues. This is a hands‑on leadership role with the opportunity to shape the future of environment management as we transition to hybrid cloud and DevOps ways of working.

Play a key part in driving continuous improvement while contributing to an exciting team transformation.

This role can be based from our London Paddington, Southampton, or Yeovil office with an expectation of 4 days per month in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage non-production test environments for your domain, acting as the primary environment point of contact.
  • Analyse new demand (timelines, stakeholders, requirements).
  • Define Route to Production and ensure process adherence.
  • Drive environment optimisation and future capability: advance “Environments on Demand”, capture configuration changes for the CMDB, and participate in Agile/Sprint ways of working.
  • Lead issue resolution and governance: coordinate non‑prod incident and request escalations, communicate updates, ETAs, and drive resolution, and promote consistent processes.
  • Contribute to team strategy and transformation: support strategic objectives and play a key role in the team’s maturity and evolution.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Passion for continuous improvement and driving change.
  • Self‑starter capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate transformation.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience in large, multi‑business unit organisations.
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Knowledge of tools such as ServiceNow, GitLab, or Datadog.
  • Technical background beneficial but not essential.
