Electrical Engineer – Peterborough
Salary: £40,000 + benefits.
Leading UK Facilities Management Provider in fast‑paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and building services equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults to minimise disruption to production.
- Perform electrical testing, inspection, repairs, and fault finding activities.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and plant performance.
- Work closely with the wider engineering team to maximise equipment availability.
- Maintain safe systems of work and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and complete documentation as required.
- Liaise effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
- Support the smooth operation of a busy manufacturing facility.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within Facilities Management, manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
- Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, controls, and maintenance practices.
- Experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑skilled engineering team.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Desirable:
- Experience within FMCG, food production, or manufacturing environments.
- Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Multi‑skilled maintenance experience.
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent electrical qualifications.
