Electrical Engineer – Peterborough

Salary: £40,000 + benefits.

Leading UK Facilities Management Provider in fast‑paced FMCG manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and building services equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults to minimise disruption to production.
  • Perform electrical testing, inspection, repairs, and fault finding activities.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and plant performance.
  • Work closely with the wider engineering team to maximise equipment availability.
  • Maintain safe systems of work and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and complete documentation as required.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
  • Support the smooth operation of a busy manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within Facilities Management, manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good understanding of electrical systems, controls, and maintenance practices.
  • Experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑skilled engineering team.
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience within FMCG, food production, or manufacturing environments.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Multi‑skilled maintenance experience.
  • City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent electrical qualifications.
