Service Engineer – Field based

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to support the maintenance, repair, commissioning, and optimisation of process cooling systems across a range of industrial environments. The successful candidate will be a proactive engineer with strong fault‑finding skills and a customer‑focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on process cooling systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system faults.
• Commission cooling equipment in line with specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct system inspections and performance assessments.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers on‑site.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working on process cooling systems.
• Strong fault‑finding and repair experience across refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, free coolers, adiabatic coolers, and associated controls.
• Experience carrying out commissioning, maintenance, and breakdown response activities.
• Full UK driving licence and formal engineering qualification.

Desirable Skills

• Health & Safety qualification or relevant experience.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
