Production Manager — South Wales — 65,000 – 75,000 + bonus
Yolk Recruitment is exclusively partnered with this well-established manufacturing business in the recruitment of an experienced Production Manager at their South Wales HQ, with a pathway to Plant Manager for the right candidate.
The business owns the market within a specialist sector, supplying customers where quality, reliability and delivery performance are critical. This is a secure business with a long‑standing reputation in its field, well‑embedded customer relationships and strong financial backing. The site has a close‑knit, SME feel, with a relatively lean structure and strong sense of ownership across the team.
This is a key leadership role within the business, with the opportunity to take ownership of production at an early stage of the site’s improvement journey. Fundamentals are strong, but there is clear opportunity to strengthen consistency and continue driving performance. You’ll influence how production is structured, how teams are developed and how performance is managed moving forward. With further hires planned and internal movement underway, there is also the chance to shape the team around you.
This is what you’ll be doing
- Leading production teams across multiple shifts and process stages
- Developing Team Leaders and improving consistency across shifts
- Taking ownership of performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost and OEE
- Driving improvements in on‑time production performance, efficiency and product quality
- Implementing lean best practices
- Using production data to identify trends and drive targeted improvements
- Working closely with planning and other functions to ensure production delivers to plan
- Supporting ongoing operational change and improvement initiatives across the site
The experience you’ll bring to the team
- Experience in a Production Manager owithin a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of improving production performance and team effectiveness
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to both engage and challenge
- Experience working to production KPIs such as quality, delivery and efficiency
- Ability to analyse data and translate it into practical operational improvements
- Experience and comfort in a role that is both strategic and hands‑on, with regular presence on the shop floor
