Pastoral Officer – KS 3/4 – Ref 15935

Hours per week: 39 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Scale 6 – £30,963 (Actual gross salary).

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring standards of attendance, punctuality and behaviour across a particular cohort and being actively involved in the follow‑up of all.
  • Developing and monitoring pastoral support programmes for individual students.
  • Supporting Heads of Year in following up behaviour incidents.
  • Supervising student detentions after school and independent study periods.
  • Providing restorative mediation for students (individually and in groups).
  • liaising both within the school and with outside agencies to ensure a tailored programme of support.
  • Attending multidisciplinary forums such as TAC meetings.
  • Supporting the accuracy and rigour of information in helping track and assess the welfare of students.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 Qualification.
  • At least a Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics.
  • Desirable qualification relating to education, social work, mediation or youth work.
  • Experience of working with young people in Key Stages 3, 4 or 5.
  • ICT competence.
