About the role
The Audit Manager plays a key role in supporting Internal Audit’s oversight of the Group’s large-scale strategic change programmes, including major technology and business transformation initiatives. The role provides ongoing independent assurance and insight to ensure effective governance, risk management, and control frameworks are embedded throughout delivery. The Audit Manager works closely with stakeholders across Change Delivery, Technology, Strategy and Planning, and Risk to challenge and assure program set‑up and execution. They deliver high‑quality audit activity and opinions across multiple change initiatives, and contribute to the evolution of Internal Audit’s approach to assessing and reporting on change‑related risks.
Working on a team‑led hybrid approach, the Audit Manager will spend at least one day per week in the Coventry or Manchester office. The role supports senior leadership teams, prepares audit reports for senior management review, coaches and develops colleagues, and contributes to audit planning and continuous improvement of audit practices.
Qualifications
- Chartered Internal Audit (CIIA), IT Audit (CISA) or another recognised certification or qualification from a project management body.
- Significant internal or external audit experience, including delivering change assurance engagements on time and to quality standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk and control frameworks within complex project and programme delivery, with substantial experience assuring large‑scale business and technology change.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience engaging with senior leadership teams for assurance engagements.
- Broad experience preparing high‑quality audit reports for senior management review.
- Experience managing and supervising colleagues.
Experience in a similar role within a financial services organisation would be helpful.
