Location: Manchester

Salary: £135,000 to £175,000 + bonus and benefits

Experience: 8+ years’ PQE

Our client is looking to recruit a Legal Director into its Manchester Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team, as part of an ongoing growth strategy.

This is a senior role for a lawyer who enjoys complex, high-profile mandates across social infrastructure, energy and utilities, and transport. You will advise on commercial contracts and transaction delivery, work closely with a broad client base (including developers, funds and financial institutions), and play an active role in shaping team strategy, nurturing talent and driving business development.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Advising clients across the energy, utilities, transport and wider infrastructure sectors on complex mandates
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and project documentation
  • Managing transaction processes and coordinating input from colleagues across relevant disciplines
  • Advising on the full spectrum of issues arising on energy and transport sector mandates
  • Leading workstreams, supervising junior colleagues and ensuring high-quality delivery against deadlines
  • Supporting business development through networking, client relationship management and training initiatives
  • Contributing to the wider development of the group, including know-how, precedents and internal training

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
  • 8+ years’ PQE with strong experience in infrastructure, projects, energy and or transport work
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a commercial, solutions‑led approach
  • Confidence managing complex transactions and coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Strong client‑facing skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
  • A proactive approach to mentoring and developing junior talent

Desirable

  • Strong experience advising energy‑side clients on a national level
  • Experience spanning a mix of public and private sector mandates
