What you will be doing
The L&D Market Lead – UK & Ireland is responsible for partnering closely and strategically with local markets to help them deliver their business priorities through effective learning. The role works with HRBPs and key stakeholders to understand local needs, drive consistency with the wider EMEA L&D strategy and deploy high‑quality, centrally‑designed learning and development solutions. It plays a key part in embedding “One Ricoh” ways of working and fostering a strong learning culture across the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner to market leadership teams, positioning L&D as a core lever for business performance.
- Work closely with HRBPs to understand local priorities, challenges, and skills gaps.
- Identify needs not covered by central solutions and design or deliver appropriate local learning interventions.
- Ensure learning is consistent across markets, following an 80/20 central‑to‑local approach.
- Understand local future workforce demands and work across the market team to define requirements for reskilling and upskilling programmes.
- Work with partners in market to embed initiatives.
- Deployment of EMEA L&D Programmes
- Coordinate the delivery of EMEA learning programmes across the market.
- Localise centrally designed programmes where needed, ensuring cultural, language and operational fit.
- Deliver learning content locally when required.
- Pilot EMEA solutions ready for scaling.
- Monitor the impact of learning programmes within the market and provide insight back to programme owners.
- Share local challenges, successes, and learner feedback to help refine regional solutions.
- Share best practice and work together as part of the wider market team to drive the best solutions for learners.
- Represent the market’s voice in shaping future central products.
- Management of Local Relationships
- Support onboarding of new acquisitions into Ricoh’s culture and L&D ecosystem, building close connections and understanding their requirements.
- Manage relationships with local trainers, delivery partners, and external vendors, ensuring they meet Ricoh’s standards.
- Promote a Strong Learning Culture
- Champion a culture of curiosity, ownership and continuous learning across the market.
- Encourage the use of transferable skills and highlight opportunities for employees to learn and grow.
- Support business market leaders in using learning solutions to drive performance and deliver business objectives.
- Compliance and funding
- Manage and address local compliance and legal needs.
- Manage local Workers’ Councils.
- Support local HR teams to leverage local funding available for training.
You will ideally have
- Successfully completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification and have proven experience in Learning & Development, HR, Psychology, Business, or a related field.
- Ability to think strategically and simultaneously.
- Experience in Learning & Development, with the ability to consult, influence, and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of how learning drives business performance.
- Ability to identify local needs and translate them into practical learning solutions.
- Skilled in programme delivery, facilitation, and adapting learning for local audiences.
- Strong performance consulting capability, using data and insights to shape, validate, and demonstrate the impact of L&D interventions.
- Experience managing external training partners or vendors.
- Strong ability to work effectively in a matrix environment across multiple functions.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to balance local flexibility with regional consistency.
- Curiosity and a passion for developing people.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to navigate complexity.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across teams and markets.
