Job Overview

This post is a position in the Gynaecology Outpatient Department and involves working closely with the ward Nursing Team, Manager, Matron and Head of Nursing.

Main Duties

  • Chaperone nurses and doctors as required with examinations and minor procedures, supporting the patient emotionally throughout the procedure.
  • Work primarily within the nursing team, with tasks allocated daily by the shift leader.
  • Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment.

Qualifications

  • Math’s and English Language GCSE A-C/9-4 OR Level 2 functional skills/Key skills in Numeracy and literacy.

Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.

Analytical and Judgment Skills

  • Be able to escalate problems when required and report back to supervising registered practitioner.
  • Ability to analyse working environment eg stock levels and to resolve or escalate as appropriate.
  • Ability to assess behaviours of service users and escalate to supervisory staff as needed.
