Senior Health Care Support Worker – Cardiology Ward (Royal Hospital for Children)

There is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Health Care Support Worker within the Cardiology Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

  • Part‑time role for 34.5 hours per week
  • Hours will be worked rotationally – dayshifts and nightshifts over 7 days
  • Post based at the Royal Hospital for Children
  • Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours

Key Responsibilities

Work within Ward 1E, a 14‑beded inpatient ward providing national cardiology care for children and young people across Scotland, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • SVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Basic literacy and numeracy
  • Previous child care experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Willingness to undertake training and become competent within 6 months in:
    • Recording Vital Signs
    • Pressure Area Care
    • Nasogastric Feeding
    • Gastrostomy Feeding
    • Moving and Handling
