KeyResponsibilities
- Leadand manage SEND provision across the academy.
- Ensurecompliance with the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and statutory guidance.
- Workclosely with the Executive Head and leadership team to develop and implementSEND strategy.
- Monitorand evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision across the school.
- Supportteachers in delivering high-quality inclusive classroom practice.
- Coordinateand review targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
- Deliversmall-group interventions to support pupils with additional needs.
- Provideoccasional cover teaching where required.
- Workcollaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies.
- Maintainaccurate SEND records and oversee identification and assessment processes.
KeyRequirements
- QualifiedTeacher Status (QTS).
- NationalAward for SEN Coordination (NASENCo)
- Experienceof coordinating SEND provision, ideally in a primary setting.
- Strongknowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellentcommunication and leadership skills.
- Commitmentto ensuring the best outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
