About the Role
You will support learners enrolled on a range of programmes from Level 2 to Level 3, including full‑time study programmes and Level 3 apprenticeships. You will plan, deliver, and assess learning that is current, engaging and relevant, supporting both young people and adults to achieve their full potential in the building services industry.
Entry Requirements for Both Roles
- Level 3 Electrical qualification
- Level 2 (GCSE) Maths and English at grade 4 or above or equivalent
- For those who hold a teaching route (Qualified or Trainee Teacher): you do not need a teaching qualification to join us; we will fully support you in gaining it at no cost while you work.
- For apprentices: Certain training agreements may apply.
Teacher Responsibilities
- Teach Level 2 and Level 3 electrical courses to both young people and adults.
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and up‑to‑date lessons.
- Support learners to progress into sustainable roles within the building services industry.
Apprentice Teacher Responsibilities
- Be employed full‑time on a permanent contract.
- Spend part of each week working in the Electrical team at Harlow Campus.
- Spend part of each week training at Harlow College.
- Follow a personalised training plan designed around your needs.
- Teach across the Education and Training Sector (ETS), collaborating closely with colleagues to support learner progress and wellbeing.
- Complete on‑programme Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) evidenced through your paid teaching role at Harlow College.
- Participate in a Teacher Training Course delivered one day per week at the College.
- Achieve Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE, grade 4+) before the programme begins.
- Complete the apprenticeship, typically up to 2 years, and upon successful completion be awarded Level 5 Teaching Certification, qualifying you as a fully trained Teacher.
