Metalis is working with a variety of manufacturing companies located throughout Rotherham & Sheffield who are looking for experienced Manual Machinists to join the team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools including heavy‑duty centre lathes, borers, mills, and bandsaws.
• Carry out centre lathe turning to specified tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Select appropriate tooling and machining methods to meet job specifications.
• Measure and inspect components to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Perform minor machine maintenance and adjustments to keep equipment running efficiently.
• Work collaboratively within a team committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties within your capability.

Shifts & Salary

£16.00ph – £18.00ph (DOE). Mixture of shifts – days & afternoons, days & nights. Overtime available.

The ideal candidate will have

• Previous machining experience.
• MUST be flexible to work shifts.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Desire to produce quality work with pride.
