Main duties of the job
Ensure availability of patient paper‑based health records.
Record and maintain accurate administrative details on the electronic patient record, including patient demographics and hospital activity.
Provide support and guidance on patient record procedures and standards, and monitor, audit, and rectify errors and missing data.
Person specification
Qualifications
- Standard GCSE level education or equivalent, including maths and English.
Experience
- Previous clerical experience in medical records.
- Understanding of Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality and the Data Protection Act 1998.
- Familiarity with the Patient Administration System (PAS).
Knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, numeracy, and literacy.
