Senior Social Workers – Family Help Service £39.04ph

Location: Hackney

The social worker will manage cases from the family allocation to case closure.

Carry out children and family assessments (Children in Need, Child Protection, Court work)

Knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors, risk and protective factors.
Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate complex information.
Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, Child Protection Procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of a range of systemic interventions, methodologies and commitment to the systemic approach and Social Learning Theory interventions.
Ability to formulate and implement effective social work interventions.
Ability to write concise reports and have excellent verbal communication skills.
Computer literacy and the skills necessary to work with information management systems and produce good quality data in a variety of formats.
Ability to create a rapport and build relationships with children and parents / carers.

Knowledge and understanding of statutory frameworks and guidance for children’s social work.
Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key children’s agencies.
An understanding of relationship management and the capacity to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships.
Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to communities from different racial and cultural backgrounds and Equal Opportunities.
