Senior Social Workers – Family Help Service £39.04ph
Location: Hackney
The social worker will manage cases from the family allocation to case closure.
Responsibilities
- Carry out children and family assessments (Children in Need, Child Protection, Court work)
Education, Training and Qualifications
- Degree Social Work / Post Qualified Experience
- Social Work England registered / HCPC Registered
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) disclosure at enhanced level
Proven Experience
- Knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors, risk and protective factors.
- Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate complex information.
- Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, Child Protection Procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of systemic interventions, methodologies and commitment to the systemic approach and Social Learning Theory interventions.
- Ability to formulate and implement effective social work interventions.
- Ability to write concise reports and have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy and the skills necessary to work with information management systems and produce good quality data in a variety of formats.
- Ability to create a rapport and build relationships with children and parents / carers.
Accountability
- Knowledge and understanding of statutory frameworks and guidance for children’s social work.
- Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key children’s agencies.
- An understanding of relationship management and the capacity to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships.
- Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to communities from different racial and cultural backgrounds and Equal Opportunities.
