Job Title: Research Support Officer

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Support Officer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality research support services across the research funding lifecycle, helping to maximise research income and enable excellent research outcomes. You will work within a dynamic and inclusive professional services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting research funding applications, including costing proposals, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and assisting with submission processes
  • Coordinating award mobilisation activities, including grant set‐up, approvals, recruitment support and stakeholder liaison
  • Providing ongoing award management support, including project changes, financial monitoring and reporting updates
  • Maintaining accurate records and data within University systems, ensuring timely updates and compliance
  • Delivering a high‑quality, responsive service to academic colleagues and collaborating with professional services teams across the Faculty

Essential Criteria

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong numeracy skills with attention to detail and the ability to work with financial data
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and initiative
  • Good digital skills, including Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new systems and processes

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience supporting administrative or research-related processes in a complex organisation
  • Experience working with financial data, budgeting or costing processes
  • Experience using databases or research management systems
  • Experience contributing to process improvement or service development
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams or organisational boundaries
