What you will do:

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments in line with the Children Act 1989/2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and pre-proceedings cases.
  • Develop and review outcome-focused care and support plans, ensuring the child’s voice is central to all interventions.
  • Conduct Section 47 enquiries and contribute to Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences.
  • Work in partnership with multi-agency stakeholders, including health, education, police, and voluntary sector services.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent). Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) where applicable.
  • Registration and Compliance: Registered with Social Work England. Sound knowledge of Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act 2014, and relevant safeguarding frameworks. Understanding of Public Law Outline (PLO) and court processes.
