Description

As a Support Worker role in LJWB, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in residential care. Your compassionate approach and dedication will help empower residents to achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence. Responsibilities

  • Provide person centred care and support to residents, ensuring their dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and personal hygiene.
  • Monitor and report on residents’ progress and any changes in their health or behaviour to the appropriate team members.
  • Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote their well-being and social inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Drive/accompany residents to appointments, social outings, and fun activities.
  • Ensure residents are safe, engaged, and supported in their personal development.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in residential care or a similar role is essential.
  • A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3) is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • The right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
  • A valid UK driving licence (Manual) and confidence in driving residents to activities.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and attend training.
  • NVQ Level 2 / Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete the Care Certificate during induction).
  • Previous experience in learning disability support or care work.
