Description
As a Support Worker role in LJWB, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in residential care. Responsibilities
- Provide person centred care and support to residents, ensuring their dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and report on residents’ progress and any changes in their health or behaviour to the appropriate team members.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote their well-being and social inclusion.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Drive/accompany residents to appointments, social outings, and fun activities.
- Ensure residents are safe, engaged, and supported in their personal development.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential care or a similar role is essential.
- A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3) is preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- The right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
- A valid UK driving licence (Manual) and confidence in driving residents to activities.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and attend training.
- NVQ Level 2 / Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete the Care Certificate during induction).
- Previous experience in learning disability support or care work.
