About the Role

We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our incredible Haven project — a warm and welcoming 6‑bed refuge in the Weymouth area. Haven provides a safe space for women who have experienced rough sleeping and are facing complex challenges such as mental health issues, substance misuse and domestic abuse. Our dedicated team is available 24/7, offering tailored support to help women rebuild their lives and move towards independence. As a Support Worker, you’ll be a key part of that journey.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide practical and emotional support to complex and vulnerable women in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular key work sessions on a regular basis, ensuring records are kept up to date.
  • Develop individual support and risk management plans for each of the residents.
  • Work in partnership with other agencies and advocate for clients to ensure their needs are met.

Please note: Job descriptions are not exhaustive, and the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to take on other duties that align with the key responsibilities outlined.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of the support needs and support planning for people with complex needs.

Benefits and Incentives

  • Access to our Rewards Platform, including an Employee Assistance Programme and Health Cash Plan.
  • 27 days annual leave, including an extra day off for your birthday, plus bank holidays – increasing up to 30 days after 4 years of continuous employment (pro rata for part‑time staff).
  • 30% staff discount at Alongside Charity shop.
  • A generous and competitive pension scheme.
  • A supportive culture where staff feedback is highly valued and regular supervisions with line managers are conducted.
  • Great opportunities for career development and free monthly training sessions from experienced facilitators.
  • Eligible for the Blue Light Card offering discounts on thousands of brands.
  • Reflective Practice sessions from objective, external facilitators.
