An opportunity has arisen to join the hardworking team at Wednesbury Hazardous Waste Treatment Plant.
Work hours and shifts
45 hours per week on rotating shifts of 0700‑1600 and 09:00‑18:00, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility on start/finish times may occasionally be required, and work may include weekends if required.
Responsibilities
Operatives will proactively carry out the day‑to‑day reception, handling, storage, treatment and processing of all incoming and outgoing wastes through Wednesbury Treatment Plant. Waste must be handled in an approved manner ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance standards are always met. Operatives will be trained in all aspects of the process. Supervision experience, first aid, fire marshal training, mobile or static plant maintenance knowledge are advantageous. Operatives will be required to perform manual handling duties, when necessary, i.e. sweeping and cleaning of spilled material, sortation, weighing and repacking of packaged goods along with general site housekeeping.
Requirements
Waste industry experience advantageous; supervisory experience, first aid, fire marshal training, mobile and/or static plant maintenance knowledge.
Desirable
- Counterbalance FLT licence
- Telehandler licence
- Knowledge & understanding of requirements of working within a time‑critical hazardous waste processing environment
