Short Breaks Support Worker (Unqualified)
Short Breaks Support Worker role in Liverpool City Council is an opportunity to support disabled children and their families. The position is part of the “Our City, Our Children, Together” practice model and involves working directly with children to develop their independence while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Support disabled children and families directly.
- Facilitate children’s attendance at community friendship groups to develop independence.
- Apply strong safeguarding knowledge to protect and support children.
- Commit to one evening and one weekend session per week, with additional hours possible during school holidays.
- Assist in creating a safe and engaging environment at the Children’s Centre.
- Participate in paid training programmes: First Aid, epilepsy, moving and handling, food hygiene and TEAM TEACH.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working directly with disabled children and their families.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Flexibility and ability to work evenings, weekends and school holidays.
