Teaching Assistants – Full‑time, Long‑Term Temporary and Ongoing (May 2026)

Duties as Teaching Assistant

• Provide general classroom support across mixed year groups
• Support pupils’ learning on a one‑to‑one or small group basis
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development
• Help maintain positive behaviour and consistent classroom routines
• Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom materials
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
• Encourage pupil independence, confidence and engagement
• Uphold safeguarding, welfare and health and safety responsibilities at all times

Ideal Teaching Assistant

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in a school setting
• Confidence supporting pupils across different year groups
• Flexible, reliable and proactive approach to general classroom cover
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, supportive and positive attitude towards pupil development
• Willingness to commit to a full‑time, long‑term temporary and ongoing role
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
