Descale Operative

£14.86 per hour, 4 on / 4 off, Monday – Thursday – no weekends. 12‑week temporary to permanent contract in Sheffield.

Metalis are currently in partnership with a well‑established steel company based in Sheffield who are looking to hire Descale Packers on a 12‑week temporary to permanent basis.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Coil strapping
• FLT driving
• Use of coil compactor and strapping tools
• Use of hydraulic and hand crop shears
• Coil grinding
• Data input into a computer

Person Specification

• Experience working in a steel environment
• Experience with FLT’s
• Open to training opportunities

Salary and Shifts

• 4 on / 4 off shift pattern
• £14.86 per hour; overtime available at enhanced rates
• Two day shifts and two night shifts
• No weekend work
• 12‑week temporary to permanent contracts
• Drug/Alcohol and Medical Testing required
