Overview

Primary SEN Teacher: an experienced, dedicated and engaging teacher is sought to join an outstanding special needs school in Lambeth, South West London. The school caters to children and young people with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism. This is a busy period of expansion.

As a result of a major expansion project, a number of primary class teaching roles are being created in the new primary department. Initially you will be contracted through Remedy Education on a timesheet basis for the duration of a probation period, after which a permanent contract will be offered subject to satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities

  • Teach primary SEN students within the new primary department.
  • Contribute to the school’s expansion and development during a critical growth phase.
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons tailored to students with severe learning difficulties, autism and related needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support students’ progress and welfare.
  • Help implement individualized education plans and support strategies as appropriate.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in special education; track record preferred.
  • Newly qualified teachers and those moving from mainstream settings are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated motivation to make a difference in students’ lives and belief that all children can make outstanding progress.
  • Experience with children who have SEN in mainstream or special school settings.
  • Basic skills in PECS, Makaton, TEACCH and Team Teach; full training to be provided.

Compensation

Please note that all daily/hourly rates quoted are inclusive of holiday pay at 12.07%.
